Job Description

Department: Biological, Chemical, and Health Sciences

Status: Full Time, Faculty (9 Months)

Reports To: Chair, Department of Biological, Chemical, and Health Sciences

As an assistant professor of Kinesiology, this position is responsible for teaching both major and non-major courses, advising, directing undergraduate research, conducting committee work, and other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Biological, Chemical, and Health Sciences. Area of expertise is open.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaches 27 hours, as assigned, annually within the Department of Biological, Chemical, and Health Sciences.
  2. Serves as the academic advisor for departmental majors.
  3. Develops and mentors an undergraduate research team designed to encourage and promote a dynamic undergraduate research experience.
  4. Serves on university committees as assigned.
  5. Attends daily Chapel.
  6. Participates in university recruitment activities.
  7. This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. This position may temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.

Requirements

Requirements

Doctoral degree in Kinesiology or related discipline preferred, a Master’s degree in field will be considered. An active Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification is required. Experience with strength and conditioning in a large group setting or having a vast network in that field preferred. Position rank will be based on degree and experience.

Salary

Commensurate with background and experience.
