Job Description

The Faculty of Science and Mathematics in the School of Applied Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University's College of Integrative Sciences and Arts invites applications for an Applied Biological Sciences Instructor position on the Polytechnic campus for the 2026–2027 academic year. The successful candidate will primarily teach in-person laboratory courses serving both non-majors and Applied Biological Sciences majors on the Polytechnic campus. Depending on programmatic needs and the candidate’s expertise, course assignments may include laboratories in general biology, anatomy and physiology, animal physiology, and related disciplines.

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate laboratory courses, developing syllabi, instructional materials, laboratory activities, and assessments, evaluating student learning, and continuously refining instructional methods to support student success. The instructor will collaborate with faculty and laboratory coordinators on curriculum development, planning, and implementation as part of the Applied Biological Sciences team. The successful candidate will also work alongside colleagues in chemistry, mathematics, and physics to advance CISA’s commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.

The course load is typically up to eight laboratory sections per semester, or an equivalent combination of lecture and laboratory sections. All course assignments will be at the undergraduate level and delivered primarily in person on the Polytechnic campus. Occasional online or hybrid course assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. Course schedules and teaching assignments will be determined by the Faculty Head based on programmatic needs.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure eligible position renewable on an academic year basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Candidate must reside in Arizona or be willing to relocate.
