222Position Overview

The Instructor will serve as an academic co-leader of Thrive Innovation—a core research and translation division of the Thrive Center - overseeing the intellectual translation of faculty scholarship into digital technology-based interventions ("Thrive Studio") and directing structured, strategic research-to-practice partnerships with external non-profit and commercial entities ("Thrive Fellowship"). Bridging academic theory with practical application, the Instructor will drive the scholarly exploration of market viability, design evidence-based go-to-market methodologies, and direct business development initiatives to scale the Center’s early childhood, mental health, and disability innovations. They will serve as the principal investigator and programmatic designer of the Thrive Fellowship curriculum, establishing a rigorous framework for collaborative innovation with external field partners. To sustain and expand this research ecosystem, the Instructor will actively secure extramural funding, philanthropic grants, and strategic venture capital aligned with academic innovation.

Deeply embedded in the university's scholarly community, the Instructor will collaborate extensively with cross-disciplinary faculty, clinicians, and community stakeholders to advance the science of early childhood intervention, mental health, and disability care. Grounding their field insights in instructional practice, the Instructor will design and deliver academic webinars, workshops, and lectures on healthcare innovation and market research methodologies for the Thrive and University communities. They will represent the Center in broader university-wide innovation initiatives and actively cultivate cross disciplinary, collaborative research partnerships with other academic units, including the McDonough School of Business, to foster an ecosystem of translational scholarship

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience and knowledge of the fields of early childhood, mental health and disability care through a combination of professional and personal experience. Experience in entrepreneurship and business development is required. A track record of securing independent funding and a strong record of partnership across different stakeholder categories are required. Experience with community-engaged partnerships, including community-engaged research, and a commitment to culturally responsive, equity-informed work are strongly preferred.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $220,000-$250,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
