Job Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Emergency Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABEM certified or board eligible.

Responsibilities may include teaching third and fourth year medical students, Emergency Medicine residents, Ultrasound fellows, and house staff rotating from other clinical departments, i.e. Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Instructors will also provide emergency medical care to patients presented to the emergency department at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to complete a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology through the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB) in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
