INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGIST - Plant Vogtle 3&4

This position is responsible for leading the station’s efforts to improve organizational, team, and individual proficiency by implementing the standards defined in INPO 24-001 Proficiency and to implement highly innovative and effective training interventions across all site departments. This individual will also be responsible for partnering with other training managers to maintain the overall health of the initial accredited training programs. They will also work to ensure instructional staff, trainers, and evaluators demonstrate industry excellent instructional skills and employ state of the art modern technologies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in education/training. Organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field and a minimum of 2 years of training/education experience.

OR

  • Associates degree in education/training, Organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field and a minimum of 4 years of training/education experience.

OR

  • In lieu of degree, minimum of 6 years of education/training, Organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field.
  • Organizational skills including the ability to coordinate initiatives across a large organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating or leading a training program
  • Master’s Degree in training, Organizational development, organizational psychology, instructional design, business or technical field.
  • Experience designing CBT modules and knowledge of e-learning software applications such as Articulate 360.
  • Expert level class facilitation skills
  • Experience working in teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Effective in working with regulatory agencies concerning training-related issues
  • Knowledge of and experience with SAT principles
  • Knowledge of educational technology and software applications used in the design and delivery of instructional materials.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Specify major duties performed by the job and % of time spent on duties.

  • Maintaining the integrity of the SNC Initial Training programs related to compliance with ACAD 02-001 and SAT principles. Interface with regulators and evaluators during the conduct of Continuum Site Visits, WANO evaluations, and Accreditation Readiness reviews.
  • Leading station and fleet activities associated with implementation of INPO 23-001 Teaching and Learning and INPO 24-001 Proficiency across all departments.
  • Develops and conducts initial and continuing instructional skills, performance improvement training, and proficiency mitigations for instructional staff and SMEs. Responsible for ensuring instructional staff have the newest, most effective innovation methods (highly interactive video training, AR/VR, on-demand learning) and can implement the tools with quality.
  • Provides support and coordinates logistics, student communications, course facilitator selection, and locations for fleet-wide initial instructor training courses
  • Provides expertise to support/mentor instructors in developing training programs in compliance with NRC, INPO and department requirements
  • Conducts instructor evaluations, assessments, and recommends developmental activities to enhance fleetwide instructor performance
  • Performs the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the SNC Initial Instructor Certification Program
