This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Instructional Designer based in Canada.
As an Instructional Designer, you will create engaging learning experiences that strengthen employee capabilities and support measurable business outcomes. You’ll work closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional partners to turn performance and learning needs into practical solutions. The role spans digital, virtual, instructor-led, and blended learning environments. You’ll apply adult learning principles and established instructional design methodologies to develop high-quality content and performance support tools. Your work will directly contribute to knowledge retention, skill development, and organizational effectiveness. This is an opportunity to combine creativity, technology, stakeholder consulting, and learning strategy in a fully remote environment.
Accountabilities:
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify learning needs and translate business objectives into effective learning solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning experiences across e-learning, virtual instructor-led, instructor-led, and blended formats.
- Apply instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM and adult learning principles to create learner-centered experiences.
- Analyze performance gaps and recommend learning strategies, content, and development approaches that address identified needs and support measurable outcomes.
- Create interactive e-learning content, job aids, assessments, and other performance support resources that reinforce knowledge and build skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure learning solutions meet business objectives, organizational standards, and learner expectations.
- Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, timelines, stakeholder expectations, and quality standards.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness and use available data and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Proven experience designing and developing e-learning content using Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, and Camtasia
- Practical experience applying instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, or similar methodologies
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design practices, and modern learning technologies.
- Experience conducting learning needs analyses and translating business requirements into practical, engaging learning solutions.
- Strong stakeholder consultation, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining attention to detail and delivery quality.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an asset.
- Experience with Synthesia, Adobe Audition, and video-based learning development is an asset.
- Experience developing blended learning programs incorporating digital, virtual, and instructor-led components is an asset.
- Experience measuring learning effectiveness and using data to improve learning outcomes is an asset.
- Professional proficiency in English and Canadian French is an asset.
