Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) seeks a dynamic Instructional Designer for Faculty Development who will help shape how our faculty learn, grow, and flourish. As a central member of the faculty development team, the Instructional Designer will work closely with the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Success to drive the design and delivery of innovative learning experiences that help faculty succeed in their professional development throughout their careers. This includes academic promotion, leadership training, mentoring and coaching, and more. This role is integral to our success as we grow educational offerings across multiple states, with WFUSM serving as the academic core of Advocate Health, and offers the opportunity to build high-impact programs that advance educational excellence, career advancement, and belonging across a broad and evolving academic health system.
The Instructional Designer will have a dual report to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Experience and Success and the Assistant Vice President of Faculty Affairs and will work collaboratively to implement and manage innovative programs that:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, instructional technology, or related field with (5) years of related instructional design experience. Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, instructional technology, or related field is preferred. Ability to design functional and technical training is necessary. Ideal candidates will have experience in problem-based, inquiry-based and/or case-based curricula.
