Job Description

POSITION:

• Instructional Coach ELA/Literacy

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Valid Ohio Teaching License required

ELA licensure (grades K-12 or appropriate grade band) preferred.

K-12 Reading Endorsement on Ohio teaching license preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Education required; Master's degree in Education, Reading, or Literacy preferred.

• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience, including ELA or literacy instruction.
• Completed Science of Reading Professional Learning modules AND completed ONE of the following:

Completed LETRS Training 1 and 2

Completed Associate Level Orton-Gillingham Training or Reading endorsement: A reading endorsement for PreK-12 and appears on a teacher's certificate or license as #059902. No other endorsements fulfill this requirement.

Master's or Doctoral degree in reading: The degree must contain the words "reading" or "literacy" in the degree name or on the transcript as the major area of study, specialization or concentration.

Received a passing score on the reading instruction test: This test is aligned to Ohio's Reading Competencies. Passing this test does not result in a reading endorsement and does not replace the Praxis 5205 for teachers who were issued licenses before July 1, 2017.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards for English Language Arts.
• Experience implementing evidence-based literacy practices and structured literacy instruction.
• Knowledge of and experience with MTSS/RtI frameworks and tiered instructional support.
• Experience administering and interpreting literacy screeners and diagnostic assessments to identify students at risk.
• Experience using student data to drive instructional decisions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with adult learners as a coach, mentor, and professional development facilitator.
• Adhere to Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
• Must have successful BCI & FBI background checks.
• Must have successful drug test results.
• Must be willing and able to carry out the duties of the job description.
• Must perform any additional duties as assigned by building/district administration.

• 2026-2027 School Year

HOURS PER DAY:

• 7 hours per day (3 days per week)

NUMBER OF DAYS:

• 120 days per year (3 days per week)

SALARY:

• Commensurate with experience
