Job Description

The Regular Education Instructional Assistant (IA) position works at the direction of building Principals and teachers to perform a variety of tasks supporting students through the school day. Responsibilities may include: monitoring activities with students, assisting teachers with classroom management, lunchroom & recess duties, assisting students individually or in small groups with organization skills, staying on task, academic support as well as providing social/emotional guidance when needed - performing all related work deemed necessary to support students as assigned by teachers and/or supervising school staff. Position functions as part of a team, working directly with students, teachers and school staff to perform all duties with accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.

  • The hourly Regular Education Instructional Assistant (IA) pay rate is $18 per hour
  • 21 hours of paid time off (PTO) - prorated based on start date

ANTICIPATED NEEDS for the 25/26 School Year:

  • Elementary School Level: Monday through Friday from 8:15am - 3:45pm
  • Middle School Level: Monday through Friday from 7:10am-2:40pm
  • High School Level: Monday through Friday from 7:15am - 2:45pm

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
  • Must have the ability to relate effectively with students, staff and public in a professional manner.

CREDENTIALING :

(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening - current within 3 months
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
