ANZ Institutional has a number of exciting opportunities available across our Sustainable Finance and Research & Analysis (R&A) teams.

ANZ’s Sustainable Finance team helps customers achieve their environmental, social and governance (ESG) ambitions by developing financing solutions that support positive outcomes for businesses, communities and the economy.

Our Research & Analysis team plays a critical role in supporting customer relationships by delivering high-quality financial, industry and risk analysis that underpins informed decision making, effective risk management and long-term customer success.

Whichever pathway you join, you'll gain exposure to complex transactions, customer engagement, market insights and strategic decision making while building a strong foundation for a long-term career within Institutional Banking.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

Depending on the role and team you join, you may:

• Work alongside experienced banking, sustainability and analytical professionals to support some of New Zealand's largest corporate, institutional and government customers.
• Conduct financial, industry, sustainability and market research, identifying trends, opportunities and risks that help shape customer and business outcomes.
• Prepare presentations, reports, credit submissions, briefing papers and recommendations that support customer conversations and strategic decision making.
• Contribute to sustainable finance opportunities by supporting customer engagements, ESG assessments, transaction execution and market analysis.
• Partner with stakeholders across Relationship Management, Product, Risk and Sustainability teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
• Monitor portfolio performance, customer activity and market developments, translating complex information into clear and actionable insights.
• Build your technical, commercial and relationship management capability while developing a broad understanding of Institutional Banking.

For our Sustainable Finance team, we're looking for:

• Proven experience, study, and/or a genuine interest in sustainability, climate transition, social impact, or the role finance plays in creating positive outcomes for customers, communities, and the environment.
• Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn information into practical insights and recommendations.
• The confidence to build relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality work.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful outcomes.

For our Research & Analysis (R&A) team, we're looking for:

• Proven experience, study, and/or a genuine interest in economics, financial markets, business strategy, or the trends shaping New Zealand's industries and economy.
• The ability to analyse information critically, identify key insights, and communicate complex ideas in a clear and practical way.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding what drives business and market outcomes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while producing high-quality work.
• Intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, and the confidence to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
