Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
Licensing/Certification: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record (preferred).
Technology Skills: Know how to use a smart phone, tablet, or other similar handheld device.
Communication/Interpersonal Relationships: Effectively read standard English text and expresses self clearly and appropriately; effective listening skills, teamwork, and customer service.
Finish Carpentry Skills: Basic proficiency in fundamental skills such as measuring, cutting, and shaping wood; nailing, screwing, and gluing. Rely heavily on instructions, learning more complex measurements and adjustments.
Tool Use Skills: Familiarity and safe usage of common carpentry tools such as hammers, saws, and drills.
Mathematical Skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals in all units of measure, compute rates, ratios, and percentages; perform operations with units such as inch, foot and yard; read and interpret blueprints.
Degree of Supervision: Direct Supervision: Work is performed according to detailed instructions and the methods of work are well established and outlined. A manager/supervisor is present and/or immediately available within the work area to give aid, direction and instruction to the person they are supervising. Generally, they are physically present, or within an immediate distance, such as on the same floor, and available to respond to the needs of something or someone.
Reasoning: Advanced attentiveness to detail, problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis.
Physical Demands: Heavy demands - exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally, 50lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly to move objects. Frequently standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and lifting. Occasionally climbing, driving, talking, sitting, pushing, pulling, and typing.
Work Environment: Field work conditions will be varied; frequently exposed to outside environmental conditions, activities occurring inside and outside, extreme heat/cold, noise, and hazards; enhanced safety awareness and PPE is required.
Travel: Local day travel.
