The Installation Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient, and successful execution of material handling system installations at customer project sites.
This position provides direct field leadership for installation activities, including mechanical and electrical installation, labor planning, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, schedule, efficiency, equipment, and project readiness.
This position works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Controls, Commissioning, subcontractors, customers, and other project participants to ensure installation activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements and Dematic quality standards.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $88,500 - $129,800 salary at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Provide day-to-day field leadership for material handling installation projects.
- Lead and coordinate Installation Supervisors, Foremen, skilled trades, subcontractors, and other field resources.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company, customer, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Plan and coordinate labor requirements based on project schedules, installation priorities, and available work fronts.
- Monitor installation progress, productivity, milestones, and schedule performance.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities with Controls, Commissioning, Project Management, Engineering, and other project teams.
- Review project drawings, layouts, specifications, installation documentation, and project requirements to support proper field execution.
- Coordinate materials, tools, rental equipment, access equipment, and other resources required to complete installation activities.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements.
- Identify installation risks, constraints, and potential schedule impacts and communicate them to project leadership.
- Support labor forecasting and supervise efficiency, overtime, travel, equipment, rentals, rework, and other installation-related costs.
- Participate in project planning, pull planning, coordination meetings, and schedule reviews.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, subcontractors, Project Management, and internal stakeholders regarding project status and field activities.
- Ensure installation quality requirements are maintained and support inspections, punch-list completion, testing, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate installation completion and system readiness with Controls and Commissioning teams.
- Support project turnover, closeout activities, and lessons learned.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience supervising or managing mechanical and/or electrical installation activities in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, automation, or material handling environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading field personnel, subcontractors, and skilled trades.
- Strong understanding of construction and installation safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
- Experience with labor planning, scheduling, productivity tracking, and field coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, subcontractors, project teams, and multiple internal departments.
- Ability to identify project risks and take appropriate action to minimize impacts to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and other project management or construction-related systems.
- Material handling, automation, conveyor, ASRS, robotics, or similar installation experience is preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- This role requires up to 80% travel and the ability to operate effectively in construction-site environments.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to work in active construction and installation environments. Responsibilities may require walking and standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, accessing elevated work areas, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- All work must be performed in accordance with company, customer, and applicable site safety requirements.
