We are looking for an inspiring first-class High School STEM Teacher to join our team in Lilongwe, Malawi --- based in the beautiful, safe, and warm heart of Southern Africa.
Our school, the QED STEM Academy (https://qed.ai/stem), provides driven students with advanced after-school instruction in math fundamentals, competition math, robotics and programming, and chess. We also run national-scale STEM competitions (e.g. Kangaroo Math) that are the first of its kind in this nation, providing exceptional talents with a pathway to international recognition, and giving our teachers the unique opportunity to positively influence millions of lives in one of the world's most under-resourced countries.
You should be enthusiastic about making an impact. And you should have a natural love for logic, math, algorithms, and infusing children with the joys of scientific discovery and healthy sportsmanship. Ideal applicants will have experience with running STEM-related clubs and training kids for competitions.
In addition to being fully funded, the job position also includes full transportation to Malawi, and the provision of housing, board, and health insurance. The environment is safe and secure. Compensation will be competitive with offers in your home country.
Contract should ideally be for at least one year, with the opportunity for extension if mutually agreeable. If you are part of a school or tutoring company that wishes to partner with us at an organizational level, we could also arrange a series of 3-month rotations with multiple teachers.
