The Inspector II is responsible for performing complex inspections of parts, materials, and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This position works under supervision while building on previous inspection and quality assurance skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform visual inspections of complex components and assemblies using direct observation and microscopes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use advanced inspection equipment (height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs—basic operation)
  • Verify material certifications, inspection reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Identify nonconformances and participate in root cause investigations
  • Support first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements
  • Train and mentor junior inspectors
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally, specifically with production and engineering, to resolve quality issues

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with knowledge of advanced shop math.
  • Basic understanding of metrology principles
  • Be able to use a wide variety of precision mechanical, optical and electro-mechanical measuring instruments
  • 2-4 years' experience in a manual machine shop/inspection environment strongly preferred
  • Must be US Citizen
