As Inspector Chief, you will play a key role in overseeing inspection activities within our production environment. You will support and mentor inspectors, ensure compliance with aviation regulations and customer requirements, and drive continuous improvement across inspection processes. Working closely with Production, Quality and Training teams, you will help maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and product quality.

What you'll do

As Lead Inspector, you will:

  • Lead and support inspection activities within the business unit.
  • Monitor inspector qualifications, certifications and ongoing competency.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, customer requirements and company procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to Quality Inspectors.
  • Work closely with Production Cell Leaders to coordinate inspection activities.
  • Review inspection documentation and release certification packages for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support certification and approval of inspection personnel.
  • Participate in internal audits, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and operational performance.
  • Promote and support our Safety Management System (SMS) and Just Culture principles.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on inspection requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in Business Unit meetings and contribute to operational excellence.

What we're looking for

You are an experienced aviation professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with leadership and mentoring.

Required qualifications

  • Extensive experience in aviation Quality Inspection.
  • Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations and airworthiness certification requirements.
  • Strong understanding of inspection procedures, quality systems and OEM manuals.
  • Experience with gas turbine engine inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with production and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach and support colleagues.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading or mentoring inspection teams.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience with production management systems.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset with experience supporting process improvements.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably supplemented with relevant technical or aviation training.
  • Approximately 6–10 years of relevant aviation quality inspection experience.
  • Experience within an aviation MRO environment is considered a strong advantage.
