Inspection Coordinator

Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC)

POSITION PURPOSE

The Inspection Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the inspection of construction and maintenance work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations. This position supports the Operations Department by monitoring contractor performance, ensuring work quality and safety, maintaining accurate inspection records, maintenance of vegetation and contributing to the reliable operation of the electric distribution system.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Internal Responsibility Coordinates with the Operations Department and internal stakeholders to track inspection activities, maintain accurate job records, and ensure inspection work aligns with TCEC standards, schedules, and safety requirements. Supports operational needs across districts as required.

External Responsibility Oversees contractor activities to ensure work is performed safely, professionally, and in compliance with applicable regulations and cooperative standards. Reviews contractor labor invoices and supports positive contractor and member-owner interactions.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee contractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with TCEC standards and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor work quality, inspection progress, and contractor performance, addressing issues and escalating concerns as appropriate.
  • Review construction drawings, staking designs, as-built documentation, and material usage to ensure accuracy.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices related to construction and maintenance labor.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, work plans, maintenance work orders, and job status documentation.
  • Apply technical expertise and sound judgement to resolve inspection and distribution system issues within established policies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support positive member-owner relations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, inspection processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong safety focus by identifying hazardous conditions and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Model TCEC's Essential Attributes in daily conduct, demonstrating reliability, responsibility, and collaboration.
  • Perform work activities as assigned, including supporting operations needs across districts and other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Preferred FAA Part 107 Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.

Operational / Functional Experience The ideal candidate will possess Journeyman-level experience with demonstrated knowledge of electric distribution systems, construction practices, and inspection processes.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Working knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulations, NESC standards, APPA guidelines, State and Federal Regulations, and TCEC safety requirements. Ability to apply technical expertise and sound judgment to resolve inspection and distribution system issues. Basic computer proficiency, including the use of inspection tracking systems, staking software, and job documentation tools. Effective communication, organizational, and teamwork skills with a strong commitment to safety, accountability, and ethical conduct.
