Job Description

The Revenue Management and Pricing department at Icelandair plays a key role in maximizing the profitability of the company's global route network. Within the department sits the Insights team, the analytics and Business Intelligence. Although the team is located within Revenue Management, it serves and delivers projects across all departments of the Commercial division, including Sales, Marketing, Network Planning, and Customer Service.

Icelandair is now searching for an Insights Analyst to analyse data relating to the company's performance and create value across the Commercial division. The individual will use a variety of analytical methods and programming to develop dashboards, reports, and models to provide the best data possible to support decision making.

The analyst will also examine market conditions that affect Icelandair's performance and support decisions aimed at maximizing revenue and profit.

Responsibilities:

  • Build reports, dashboards, and analyses for departments across the Commercial division
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and work with diverse datasets and programming/analytics tools
  • Develop decision-support and forecasting models and develop performance metrics
  • Manage analytics- and data-literacy-related projects
  • Other related tasks

Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or similar)
  • Experience in data analysis, Business Intelligence, or similar analytical roles in Power BI or comparable business intelligence solutions
  • Experience from an operational, commercial, or data-driven environment, or in project management is ideal
  • Experience working with data and tools such as SQL, Excel, Python, R, or similar. Knowledge of Databricks is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience of using AI solutions for development and analysis, such as Claude or Copilot is preferred
  • Experience working with semantic models (data models) is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate information and insights from data
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Good command of English, spoken and written
