Flow Control Group is seeking a highly proactive and collaborative Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This critical role requires a dynamic sales professional who combines technical aptitude with outstanding customer service, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the brands and technology groups owned by Flow Control Group to drive daily commercial success.
As an Inside Sales Representative, you are the primary point of contact for our customers and the critical engine driving our transactional and consultative sales cycle. On a daily basis, you will act as the vital link between our customers and our internal teams, collaborating closely with Estimators, Project Managers, and Strategic Account Managers to respond to customer inquiries, generate quick-turn quotes, process orders, and proactively follow up on outstanding opportunities to maximize revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Solution-Based Selling: Maintain a solid, working knowledge of FCG brands, products, and technologies to quickly identify the best flow control solutions for recurring customer inquiries and opportunities.
• Up-Selling & Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to recommend complementary products, accessories, or premium brand alternatives to maximize order value and improve the customer's operational efficiency.
• Primary Point of Contact: Act as the daily commercial face of FCG, providing prompt, professional, and knowledgeable support to customers regarding pricing, availability, and order status.
• Proactive Follow-up: Consistently follow up on outstanding quotes and proposals, overcoming customer objections to close transactional sales and secure purchase orders.
• Rapid Quoting: Evaluate standard customer inquiries, configure standard flow control packages (valves, automation, pumps, instrumentation), and quickly generate accurate commercial quotes using ERP and CRM systems.
• Order Entry & Verification: Accurately process customer purchase orders, verifying that pricing, part numbers, lead times, and terms of sale align perfectly with the original quote before entering them into the system.
• Sales Support Ecosystem: Collaborate daily with Strategic Account Managers to support key accounts, and partner with Estimators to hand off highly complex, custom engineering inquiries.
• Expediting & Logistics: Work closely with purchasing, manufacturing brands, FCG brands, and logistics teams to expedite critical orders, proactively communicating potential delays and resolution steps to the customer.
• CRM Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records of customer interactions, quotes, and opportunities within the CRM system to ensure accurate pipeline reporting and sales forecasting.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or application support within the industrial flow control, fluid handling, valve automation, or instrumentation industry is strictly required.
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline is preferred, or equivalent specialized industry experience.
• Product Familiarity: Strong fundamental knowledge of flow control technologies, equipment, and industrial distribution processes.
• Systems Proficiency: Experience utilizing ERP systems, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and digital sizing/configuration tools.
• Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to build trust, handle difficult customer scenarios with grace, and maintain high energy over the phone.
• Multitasking & Urgency: Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of emails and phone inquiries in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer
• Competitive base salary with performance-based incentive opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc.).
• Opportunities for career advancement into Outside Sales, Estimating, or Project Management within a rapidly growing, industry-leading organization.
• A collaborative, high-energy work environment with exposure to a wide variety of engineering technologies and market sectors.
