Organizational Relationship

The Inside Sales Representative, Contractors & Wireless reports directly to the Inside Sales Manager / Director of Sales and works closely with Outside Sales, Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, and Administration.

Job Description

The Inside Sales Representative, Contractors & Wireless will support revenue growth and customer retention within NWS's Contractors and Wireless business by managing inbound sales opportunities, developing leads, preparing quotes, coordinating orders, and providing responsive day-to-day customer support.

This role will serve as a key internal sales resource for the Outside Sales team and will help convert opportunities into orders while ensuring customers receive timely communication, competitive pricing, accurate quotes, and reliable order execution.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, commercially minded sales professional with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of NWS products and services, the wireless resale and contractor ecosystem, customer requirements, pricing, margins, and order processes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests for quotations, product availability, pricing, orders, and general sales inquiries.
  • Support the Outside Sales team in managing existing customers and developing new business opportunities within the Contractors and Wireless markets.
  • Qualify inbound leads and identify potential sales opportunities for follow-up by the Outside Sales team.
  • Conduct proactive outbound calling, email outreach, and follow-up activities to generate new opportunities and support account growth.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes, proposals, and order documentation based on customer requirements.
  • Follow up on open quotations and opportunities to move prospects through the sales process and convert quotes into orders.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding pricing, product availability, order status, backorders, shipping information, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as a primary internal point of contact for designated contractor and wireless customers.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to confirm product availability, pricing, lead times, special pricing, and purchasing requirements.
  • Work with Procurement to support standard pricing, customer-specific pricing, tiered pricing, and margin objectives.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse and Operations to coordinate order fulfillment, shipping schedules, inventory availability, and customer priorities.
  • Process customer orders accurately and ensure all required documentation is completed and communicated to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Monitor open orders and proactively communicate any delays, shortages, backorders, or other issues to customers and the Outside Sales team.
  • Support the onboarding of new customers by coordinating account setup, credit applications, required documentation, and internal approvals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, opportunity, quotation, and activity information in the CRM.
  • Track open opportunities, quotations, follow-ups, and customer activities and provide regular updates to the Outside Sales Manager.
  • Support sales forecasting by maintaining accurate opportunity stages, expected close dates, order values, and customer information in the CRM.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell products and services to existing customers.
  • Monitor customer purchasing patterns and proactively identify opportunities for increased wallet share.
  • Support the Outside Sales team with customer presentations, proposals, product information, and other sales materials as required.
  • Provide customers with product and service information and develop a strong understanding of their business needs.
  • Assist with post-sale customer follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Escalate customer service, pricing, inventory, or order issues appropriately and work cross-functionally to achieve timely resolution.
  • Provide feedback to Sales Leadership and Marketing regarding customer needs, competitive activity, products, pricing, and market trends.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, training sessions, account reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving documented inside sales and order management procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Sales Leadership.

  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales activity and pipeline information.

  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a sales team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in wireless, telecommunications, distribution, contractors, resale, liquidation, or related industries.
  • Existing knowledge of wireless products, contractor channels, secondary markets, or telecom customers.
  • Experience working with large or complex customer orders and quotations.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, quoting, inventory, or order management systems.
  • Experience working with bills of materials (BOMs) and technical or product-based quotations.

Work Experience

  • 2–5+ years of inside sales, customer service, account management, sales support, or business development experience.
  • B2B sales or distribution experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting outside sales teams or managing customer accounts is an asset.
  • Experience in wireless, telecommunications, distribution, contractors, or secondary markets is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales, activity, customer service, or revenue targets.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Sales Revenue & Order Growth

Definition: Revenue generated through assigned accounts, inbound opportunities, outbound sales activities, and support of the Outside Sales team.

Goal: Achieve assigned monthly/quarterly revenue targets and contribute to territory growth.

  1. Quote Conversion

Definition: Percentage of qualified quotations converted into customer orders.

Goal: Maintain a strong quote-to-order conversion rate while supporting competitive pricing and healthy margins.

  1. New Customer & Lead Development

Definition: Qualified leads generated and new customer opportunities supported through the sales process.

Goal: Generate a consistent volume of qualified opportunities and contribute to new customer acquisition targets.

  1. Existing Account Growth

Definition: Revenue growth generated through repeat orders, cross-selling, upselling, and increased customer wallet share.

Goal: Identify and pursue opportunities to increase purchasing across assigned accounts.

  1. Customer Responsiveness

Definition: Timeliness and quality of responses to customer inquiries, quotations, order updates, and follow-ups.

Goal: Meet established response-time and customer service standards.

  1. CRM & Pipeline Management

Definition: Accuracy and completeness of customer, quote, opportunity, and activity information in the CRM.

Goal: Maintain 95%+ compliance with required CRM activity and opportunity updates.

  1. Order Accuracy & Execution

Definition: Accuracy and timeliness of customer orders, documentation, and internal coordination.

Goal: Maintain high order accuracy and proactively resolve issues that may impact customer delivery or satisfaction.

  1. Gross Margin Performance

Definition: Ability to support revenue growth while maintaining appropriate pricing and margin levels.

Goal: Meet established gross margin expectations and escalate pricing exceptions appropriately.

Success Profile

The successful candidate will be a highly responsive, organised, and commercially driven inside sales professional who can effectively support both customers and the Outside Sales team.

They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and where success depends on strong coordination between Sales, Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, and Administration.

The ideal candidate will combine strong customer service skills with a sales-oriented mindset, actively looking for opportunities to generate new business, grow existing accounts, improve quote conversion, and contribute to profitable growth within the Contractors & Wireless business.
