About the role:

The Inside Sales Representative supports customer inquiries, quotations, order entry, and account coordination. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers and works closely with internal teams to provide accurate information on pricing, delivery, and product availability.

This position helps ensure a smooth flow of information between customers and internal departments, supports timely order processing, and assists in resolving issues that may impact customer experience. The role also contributes to sales forecasting activities, supports overall business and revenue objectives, and requires regular travel to support customer relationships and business needs.

Success in this role requires strong organization, responsiveness, attention to detail, and consistent follow-up. This role is accountable for the accuracy of orders, responsiveness to customers, and effective coordination across internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries by phone and email
  • Provide customers with pricing, delivery, and product information
  • Prepare and follow up on product quotations
  • Support preliminary RFQ activity, including gathering qualifying information and tracking RFQs through the system prior to quote stage
  • Enter customer orders and delivery changes into JD Edwards
  • Verify order delivery dates and support resolution of delivery delays
  • Research, clarify, and resolve customer issues in coordination with Production Control, Purchasing, Accounting, Warehouse, and other internal teams
  • Support return authorizations and customer repair activity through the process until resolution
  • Maintain customer account information, including part number cross references, sales information, contract delivery details, lead times, and reorder timing
  • Support monthly sales forecast activities and contribute data for forecasting efforts
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets to support sales activity, customer visits, and internal tracking
  • Review open orders, purchase orders, and pricing history to support order management and issue identification
  • Communicate unresolved or elevated customer issues through appropriate channels
  • Support domestic and international order documentation, including trade compliance requirements as applicable
  • Partner with internal teams to communicate customer needs and support day-to-day account activity
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of products, applications, and customer use cases
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on customer issues, product performance, and recurring trends
  • Travel to support customer meetings, relationship management, and business needs
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures, and clean room protocols as required

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Four years of related experience and/or training may be considered in place of a degree
  • Experience in customer service, order management, inside sales support, or a related role in a manufacturing or technical environment preferred
  • JD Edwards preferred
  • Experience supporting domestic and international orders preferred

  • Strong customer and people-focused mindset, with an understanding of how responsiveness and follow-through impact the business
  • Demonstrated ability to respond in a timely and professional manner and maintain clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong follow-up and follow-through to ensure issues, requests, and commitments are carried through to completion
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and other standard business software
  • Ability to research issues, identify solutions, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with pricing, delivery, and order information accurately and efficiently

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment and ERP systems
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Regular travel required to support customer meetings and business needs
  • Interaction with manufacturing environments, including warehouse and production areas
  • Must comply with clean room protocols when entering controlled environments

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $69,200.00 - $103,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
