Project Quotations Specialist position will be responsible to analyze customer product requirements and prepare quote documentation and Crane Solutions project proposals based on information regarding product and pricing needs, shipping location, competitive bids, contract requirements, and business margin guidelines. The Quote Specialist will be heavily involved in the technical details of major strategic project orders. The goal is to create value and establish the project order management process as a key differentiator from our competitors from project quotation stage to final valve and documentation delivery.
Complete and deliver accurate customer quote requests including price verification to analyze the competitive factors that must be considered and negotiated.
Understand and apply divisional policies regarding pricing, discounts, freight, etc. including managing pricing and related level of approval process requirements.
Provide product and technical support and solutions to customers by collaborating with Technical Support, Business Line Management, and Application Engineering and other appropriate departments. Partner with application engineering teams to complete quotes and pricing on proposed Bill of Materials and related drawings.
Demonstrate creative problem solving skills to generate well balanced customer and business solutions.
Analyze and support pricing requirements and create pricing models in response to requests on all project types to ensure that adequate support is provided for business solutions/proposals
Create and maintain standard work and documentation of all processes for the function
Drive and execute process improvement focused on enhancing customer satisfaction, departmental and business needs.
Partner with finance to discuss and obtain approvals for non-standard payment terms, Letter of Credit and warranty bonds.
Essential Qualifications/ Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum 2 years' industry experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excels at analytical thinking.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work within a fast-paced changing environment.
Effectively interact with customers via the phone, e-mail, other written and verbal communication mediums.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of sales channels and related business requirements.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Ability to take direction and work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer satisfaction.
Ability to utilize time effectively; excellent time management skills.
Drive to not accept status quo by utilizing a combination knowledge and problem resolution skills.
Desirable Qualifications/ Experience:
Two or more years of cost analysis or pricing experience.
Experience working with industry products and services.
Experience working with all phases of solicitation processes such as requests for information, pricing and negotiation.
Critical thinking skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and CRM software.
Strong presentation and training skills.
PMP Certification is a plus.
