Job Description

Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative is responsible for supporting sales activities, customer service initiatives, and daily operational requirements within the Ready-Mix Concrete division. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers, providing pricing, quotations, order entry, account support, and coordination with internal departments to ensure customer needs are met. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while supporting sales growth and operational efficiency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to customer inquiries, pricing requests, cash sale (COD) requests, quotations, and special project opportunities.

  • Review tender documents to identify concrete specifications, quantities, and project requirements.

  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute pricing information and support the administration of customer pricing programs.

  • Support sales objectives by maintaining customer relationships and identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.

  • Follow up on quotations, bid results, project opportunities, and workload tracking activities.

  • Review daily invoicing for accuracy and assist with customer account administration.

  • Enter customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring delivery details, schedules, and customer instructions are complete.

  • Coordinate customer requirements with Dispatch, Production, Quality Control, and Sales teams.

  • Facilitate mix design requests and technical inquiries with the Quality Control Department.

  • Promote value-added products and services to customers where appropriate

  • Provide customers with product information and application guidance.

  • Interact regularly with plant personnel to support daily operational requirements.

  • Answer a high volume of incoming calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to customer accounts, orders, and quotations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.

  • Experience with SAP, CRM systems, and SharePoint is considered an asset.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents is considered an asset.

  • Flexibility to support operational requirements outside regular business hours when required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primarily office-based environment with extended periods of sitting, computer work, and telephone use.

  • Frequent interaction with customers, sales staff, dispatch personnel, and plant operations.

  • Occasional travel to customer sites, plants, and project locations may be required

  • May require flexibility outside standard business hours to support operational and customer needs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

  • College diploma or university degree in Business, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.

  • Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, dispatching, logistics, ready-mix concrete, construction materials, or a related industry is preferred.

  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents is considered an asset.

  • Completion of concrete technology or industry-related courses is considered an asset.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

COMPESATION INFORMATION:
The expected range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
