Job description
We are seeking an experienced SAP business objects consultant with stronghands-onexpertisein developing managing and troubleshooting enterprise BI solutions The ideal candidatewill have deep knowledge of SAPBOBJtools to be capable of delivering optimized reports and dashboards anddemonstratestrong analytical andproblem-solvingskills Experience in SAP analytics cloud will be considered a strong advantage
Responsibilities
Developandoptimizereportsdashboards and universes using SAP business objects tools such as web intelligenceLumiradesigners IDTUDT and CMC
Performend-to-endBI solution delivery from requirement gathering to production deployment and user support
Troubleshoot complex reporting data connectivity and performance issues acrossBOBJenvironments
Managescheduling,publication,and security configurations withinBOBJplatform
Collaborate withcross-functionalteams to ensure highqualitytimelyand reliable BI deliverables
Maintain and enhance existing BOBJjob applications ensuring stability and alignment with evolving business needs
Provide Technical Support for incidence root cause and performance optimization
(Good to have)Develop and integrate SAC dashboards and storiesleveraginglive and import connections
Contribute to BI modernization initiatives including migration upgrades and hybrid analytics adoption
Lead end-to-end upgrade activities including environment assessment, upgrade strategy preparation, scheduling, and coordination with BASIS and infrastructure teams.
Perform detailed impact assessments on reports, universes, data connections, and dependent systems toidentifycompatibility issues.
Install and upgrade SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform and associated tools (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, etc.) ensuring configuration and environment integrity.
Conduct thorough testing of existing reports, dashboards, and universes,identifyingand fixing any functional or performance issues post-upgrade.
Develop test cases and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, ensuring end-user validation and sign-off.
Document upgrade procedures, test cases, and troubleshooting steps. Conduct training sessions to familiarize users and support teams with new features or changes.
Provide immediate post-upgrade support for issue resolution, system optimization, and ensuring business continuity.
Mandatory skill sets:
5-10 years of experience in SAPBOBJsuite web intelligence,lumina designer,IDTUDT and CMC
Strong troubleshooting skills in report failures,query performance,and data connectivity issues
Experience with universe design data modeling connection setup forBW4Hana andnon SAPsources knowledge of report scheduling bursting and publication workflows
Exposure toBExqueries,HANAviewsor SQL based data sources
Hands on experience inBOBJserver administration promotion management and version upgrades
Familiarity with cloud migration strategies for BI platforms
Familiarity withBI2025 and its essential features
Upgradation from BOBJ 4.3 to BI-2025.
(Good to have)practical experience in SAP analytics cloud for building analytical stories and dashboards
Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills
Prior experience in Host Path mounting for event-based scheduling
Hands-on experience in CMS & FRS Recovery
Good experiencein APS Splitting, Auditing DB Optimization, SSLcertificatesand Load balancers.
Experience in designing and executing functional, integration, and regression tests for BI reports and universes.
Ability toidentify, analyze, and resolve issues quickly during upgrade and post-implementation phases.
Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Capability to manage upgrade timelines, risk mitigation, and stakeholder coordination.
Experience with SAP BOBJ SDKs, knowledge of BI platform architecture, familiarity with automation and scripting tools forupgradetasks.
Preferred skill sets:
Exposure toSAP Datasphere or SAP BW4HANAintegration withBOBJ/SAC.
Experienceworking in agile BI delivery models
Years of experiencerequired
8to12years experienceon SAP BW.
