We are seeking an experienced Data API Developer to design, develop, andmaintainhigh-performance API serving layers for our Data Warehouse infrastructure. This role requiresexpertisein modern API technologies, cloud platforms, and data engineering to enable seamless data access and integration across the organization.

Responsibilities

API Development & Design

•Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives for new API solutions and architectural patterns

•Design and develop robust API serving layers on top of Data Warehouse infrastructure

•Create and maintainGraphQLAPIs for efficient data querying and retrieval

•Define and document API contracts ensuring consistency and backward compatibility

•OptimizeAPI performance for high throughput and low latency requirements

Data Engineering & Integration

•Develop andmaintaindata pipelines using Python orPySparkand AWS Glue ETL

•Integrate APIs with various database systems and data storage solutions

•Implement data transformation logic within the API layer

•Ensure data consistency and integrity across API endpoints

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

•Deploy and manage API services within the AWS ecosystem

•Configure andoptimizenetworking components for API traffic

•Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment

•Develop automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management

•Monitor API performance and implement proactive optimization strategies

Security & Authentication

•Implement OAuth 2.0 and OIDC authentication flows

•Integrate with Okta for identity and access management

•Apply security best practices including encryption, input validation, and threat protection

•Conduct security assessments and implement remediation measures

•Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards

Software Development Lifecycle

•Follow SDLC best practices throughout the development process

•Participatein code reviews andmaintainhigh code quality standards

•Write comprehensive unit and integration tests

•Create andmaintaintechnical documentation

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and product owners

Mandatory skill sets:

•Proficiencyin Java & Python; experience withPySpark

•StrongexpertiseinGraphQL; RESTful API design and development

•Extensive experience with AWS ecosystem including AWS Glue, Lambda, API Gateway, and other serverless technologies

•S3, RDS Postgres, Redshift, or other AWS data services

•Deep understanding of Data Warehouse concepts andarchitectures

•Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

•Knowledge of data modeling and optimization techniques

•Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0 and OIDC protocols

•Okta implementation and management

•Security best practices and vulnerability management

•CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance

•Automation scripting and tooling

•Understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and API gateway configurations

Preferred skill sets:

•Proventrack recordof delivering scalable, production-grade APIs

•Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

•Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

•Excellent communication and collaboration skills

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
