As a business application consulting generalist at PwC, you will provide consulting services for a wide range of business applications. We are seeking an experienced APIGEE SME with over 7 years of comprehensiveexpertisein API management and integration using the Google APIGEE platform. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor on APIGEE, leading best practices, architecture design, and advanced troubleshooting to deliver enterprise-grade API solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead design, development, and implementation of scalable API management solutions using APIGEE Edge, Hybrid or Cloud.
Act as the APIGEE technical subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership across multiple teams.
Architect secure, high-performance API solutions aligned with business goals and enterprise IT strategy.
Develop complex API proxies, implement security policies (OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS), mediation flows, and traffic management.
Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting and root cause analysis for APIGEE API operational issues.
Define, enforce, and evangelize API governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate APIGEE with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
Mentor and upskill development teams on APIGEE platform capabilities, design patterns, and emerging features.
Stay current with APIGEE releases, API management trends, and cloud-native technologies to recommend continuous improvements.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and provide expert consultation.
Document architectural decisions, API specifications, operational procedures, and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Mandatory skill sets:
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience specifically with Google APIGEE API Management platform( ApigeeX or Hybrid)
Strongexpertisein API design (REST, SOAP), API security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML), and message formats (JSON, XML).
Proficient with APIGEE policies, flows, and custom scripting using JavaScript or Java.
Demonstrated experience in API lifecycle management, versioning, and analytics.
Solid understanding ofmicroservicesarchitecture, integration patterns, and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
Experience with API gateways, load balancing, performance tuning, and high availability setups.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Superior problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and incident management.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
Preferred skill sets:
Experience in enterprise-scale API projects across industries.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
Exposure to other API management platforms and tools for comparative analysis.
Years of experience required:
4 to 8yrs.
Education qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech / MCA/ M.E/ M.TECH/ MBA/ PGDM. All qualifications should be in regular full-time mode with no extension of course duration due to backlogs
