Ensures phlebotomists are collecting specimens from patients appropriately, obtaining prior unsuccessful sample collections, communicates with nursing staff to solve problems, provides leadership and guidance to inpatient phlebotomists, leads workflow and monitors all zones to ensure timely completion of draws, coaches phlebotomists on opportunities to improve patient care and draw technique, provides training and performance feedback for new phlebotomists, provides backup coverage for specimen processing as needed; also performs clerical, quality, housekeeping, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required; completion of formal phlebotomy training program or equivalent is required.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience or a minimum of six months experience as an Inpatient Phlebotomist within TCHHN required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to read and comprehend written information required; ability to effectively and efficiently perform a variety of job duties in a stressful, fast paced environment is required; Phlebotomy skills required; emotional intelligence and leadership skills required; ability to give and receive feedback required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking skills to support quality decision-making.
Ability to effectively use basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
