A pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in preparing, distributing, and managing medications for
patients in an acute care setting. They prepare and package medication orders, compound sterile and
nonsterile preparations, replenish medication inventory in pharmacy and on patient units, deliver
medications to patient care areas, maintain accurate medication-related records, and uphold regulatory
and safety standards.
Requirements:
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician
by Virginia Board of Pharmacy
Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a hospital pharmacy
technician
• Experience with use of office software
computer applications and keyboarding
