The Inpatient Pharmacist at UCLA Health's Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital is responsible for safe and accurate medication dispensing, order verification, and clinical pharmacy services in an inpatient hospital setting. Under supervision, this pharmacist prepares and reviews medication orders, maintains patient medication profiles, provides pharmacokinetic dosing and clinical interventions, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to optimize drug therapy. The role also includes sterile product compounding, participation in code response, and adherence to all regulatory and accreditation requirements.

This role provides direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians to ensure the technical accuracy of medication preparation, compounding, and distribution workflows.

Schedule: Varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays

Hourly Salary: $91.06-$106.67

Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE


Job Qualifications


We’re seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
  • Active California Pharmacist license required
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital inpatient experience, or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency (residency preferred)
  • PGY2 residency training in Psychiatric Pharmacy and/or Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP) strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetics and ability to perform age- and disease-specific dosing calculations
  • Ability to compound IV admixtures and sterile products using proper aseptic technique
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to evaluate drug therapy appropriateness, identify interactions, and communicate recommendations to the care team
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Code Blue certification required (or must obtain upon hire)
