This role is based on a 15-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit, where you’ll work alongside advanced practice providers, nurses, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and operational support staff to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment.

About Allina Health's Mental Health and Addiction Service Line

Allina Health has a robust mental health and addiction service line offering the full continuum of care, including outpatient and specialty outpatient care, addiction and co-occurring services, partial hospitalization, intense outpatient and day treatment programs, inpatient services, consult psychiatry, and more. The team spans across the organization and consists of more than 290 mental health and addiction providers dedicated to the highest quality patient care. The service line is provider led in tandem with operational leaders.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit to a diverse population

  • Develops behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders

  • Consults with providers to assist with ongoing management of the behavioral health needs of their patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training

Licenses/Certifications

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required

  • BE/BC with completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training

  • Completion of geriatric psychiatry fellowship preferred

  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)

  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable

  • BLS/ACLS required within 180 days of hire

Physical Demands

  • Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $328,400 to $339,000 per yearThe pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
