Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, this physician is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care while supporting patients and families through acute behavioral health crises and recovery.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position will play a key role in supporting psychiatric education and physician development through participation in the Indiana University School of Medicine Psychiatry Residency Program, including the clinical supervision, teaching, and mentoring of psychiatry residents as part of an eight-resident psychiatry residency program launching in July 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents admitted to the inpatient behavioral health unit.
  • Lead interdisciplinary treatment planning and collaborate with nursing, therapy, social work, care management, and medical staff.
  • Conduct family meetings and support comprehensive discharge planning and continuity of care.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered psychiatric services.
  • Participate in quality improvement, program development, and clinical excellence initiatives.
  • Provide education, supervision, and mentorship to psychiatry residents and other learners participating in child and adolescent psychiatry rotations through the IU School of Medicine Psychiatry Residency Program.
  • Support the continued growth of academic psychiatry and behavioral health services within the Deaconess Health System.
