FIN | CORE Coding - Inpatient Review
**This is a remote coding position**
The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist – Inpatient reviews and interprets inpatient health records to identify diagnoses and procedures that impact the current hospital encounter. This position ensures documentation supports all assigned diagnoses and procedures and selects the appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes within established deadlines. The specialist also reviews documentation for medical necessity, assigns working diagnoses and DRGs, identifies expected length of stay and Core Measure cases as applicable, and conducts periodic reviews throughout the patient’s hospitalization. Additionally, the specialist collaborates with Clinical Documentation Specialists II to identify and address documentation deficiencies to support accurate and complete coding.
