Job Description

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And its girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for, and respond to, crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

Plan International is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Innovative Finance and Private Sector Lead (Asia Pacific).

This is a critical regional role responsible for driving innovative financing and private sector engagement across the region, enabling Plan to diversify funding and unlock sustainable, scalable impact for children, particularly girls.

The role will lead the identification, design, and delivery of blended finance, impact investment, and corporate partnerships, working across Country Offices, National Offices, and global teams.

Working in a complex, matrixed federation, you will collaborate across teams to build a strong pipeline of partnerships, mobilise private capital, and position Plan as a leader in innovative finance and private sector engagement.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead the development of a strong pipeline of innovative finance and private sector opportunities across APAC
  • Design and structure financing solutions including blended finance, impact investment, and results-based mechanisms
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with corporates, investors, and financial institutions
  • Mobilise resources from private sector actors aligned with Plan’s mission and priorities
  • Support Country Offices to identify, develop, and deliver finance-ready opportunities
  • Strengthen systems, tools, and internal capacity for innovative finance across the region
  • Position Plan International as a credible and strategic partner in the private sector and ESG space

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in innovative finance, investment, corporate partnerships, or consulting
  • Strong track record of structuring and delivering complex financing or partnership solutions
  • Experience engaging corporates, investors, financial institutions, or ESG stakeholders
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Experience working across multiple countries or in regional/global roles
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Understanding of gender equality, rights-based programming, and ethical partnerships
