Imagine a future where you build entirely new businesses that accelerate the green transition and unlock new sources of value.
Join us in this role where you’ll originate and build new ventures from the ground up, turning bold ideas into scalable businesses. You’ll shape opportunities, validate them with the market, and drive early commercialisation, working across functions and leveraging the strength of a global organisation.
Welcome to Ventures & Open Innovation
You’ll be part of a team focused on identifying and scaling transformational opportunities, where you together with your colleagues will explore new markets, business models, and technologies. You’ll collaborate closely across engineering, commercial, and business development functions to bring new ideas to life. As a team, we support each other, challenge ideas constructively, and work with curiosity and ownership to turn ambition into impact.
You’ll play an important role in:
originating new business opportunities by identifying white spaces and shaping opportunity areas
leading end-to-end venture building from ideation through validation to early commercialisation
designing and testing business models through structured experimentation and rapid learning
collaborating with internal stakeholders to unlock capabilities and move opportunities forward
translating technical assets and capabilities into new commercial propositions
contributing to innovation strategy and portfolio prioritisation.
To succeed in the role, you:
have hands-on experience building new businesses or ventures from concept to launch
bring a strong commercial mindset, focusing on customers, value creation, and revenue models
are comfortable working across ambiguity and can create structure and direction independently
collaborate effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders, or equivalent experience
demonstrate curiosity and quickly build understanding in new industries or domains
communicate clearly and persuasively, building alignment around new ideas.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.
Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.
As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
