Job Title: Innovation Lead
As Linamar’s Innovation Lead, you will drive Linamar’s innovation strategy by leading key projects that transform breakthrough ideas into commercially viable products. Working across sectors such as Industrial, Agriculture, Robotics and Defense, you will partner with internal teams, entrepreneurs, and external collaborators to tackle global challenges and deliver sustainable growth. Embodying the “One Team, One Linamar” approach, you will unite world-class technology, manufacturing excellence, and global networks to accelerate innovation and bring new solutions to market.
Responsibility
Lead the pursuit, evaluation, and execution of innovation projects across sectors including Industrial, Agriculture, Robotics, and Defense.
Manage project development from concept through testing and commercialization, aligning partners on timelines, budgets, and technical milestones
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production readiness and ensure successful commercialization of new technologies
Serve as a key liaison with startups, universities, and research institutions to drive co-development and accelerate the commercialization of emerging technologies
Track and report key innovation metrics—including projects, partners, and prospects—across regions and sectors to monitor progress and market impact
Provide regular updates on innovation initiatives to internal teams and leadership, ensuring coordination across regions and sectors
Engage with external stakeholders including suppliers, customers, and government partners to secure support and advise leadership on strategic innovation opportunities
Academic/Educational Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
5-7 years experience in Business, Engineering, or Innovation field is required.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Comfortable presenting to groups and conducting training sessions, ensuring clarity and engagement.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Proactively seeks out learning opportunities and stays current with evolving technologies and trends in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in preparing clear, concise, and professional business reports and documentation.
Thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, maintaining productivity and focus under tight deadlines.
