We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for an Innovation Engineer within our Engineeringteam to help support our Automotivebusiness. Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry? That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators and Massage Systems. As an Innovation Engineer you will have the opportunity to driving innovation activities and projects according to the innovation process from idea to patent / proof of concept.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to company vision/mission, values, and safety vision
2. Lead innovations focused on new and next generation products to expand current portfolio until POC (proof of concept) and first phase support to CPD.
3.Establish, maintain and develop regular contact with internal and external partners, suppliers, innovative companies and research institutes on all relevant topics in accordance with LPA strategy and product roadmaps.
4.Scout and assess new technologies relevant to LPA strategy and product roadmaps.
5.Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods / standards, design and program information, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions
6.Ensure all innovations are reviewed for best practice from a design to cost , design to manufacture and design to requirment perspective to ensure competitiveness
7.Ensures all needed compliance and audit deliverables are met
8. Proactively participate in ideation workshops and submit ideas to the ideation list / portal
Experience:
1.2-4 years of experience in advanced development or technology scouting
2. Experienced with product development
3.Proven history of idea generation and implemen
