The Innovation Designer role requires a motivated designer who can generate and bring new product ideas to life across physical and digital platforms. The position requires a passion for exploration of new beauty experiences as well as the integration of design and technology.

Your team

The P&G Research & Development Innovation Design Studio (in Singapore Innovation Centre at Biopolis) offers the unique opportunity to work in a team of designers on early stage ideas / innovations, through design conceptualization all the way to launch. The Singapore Innovation Design studio comprises an enthusiastic team of Industrial Designers, Digital Designers & CMF expertise working across Hair Care, Skin Care & Personal Care. A role is currently available in our Beauty Care organization working on new to the world Beauty Experiences for established brands such as Olay®, Pantene®, Safeguard® & Head & Shoulders®.

How success looks like

Success in this role is based on the ability to conceptualize and develop superior beauty experiences. The role requires a motivated independent thinker that can inspire & generate and bring to life new product & package ideas. Must be able to collaborate with, influence and enroll multiple cross-functional partners to deliver great design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

This Innovation Designer position is hands-on and for an individual who has passion for beauty experiences, desire for experimentation and exploration of new ideas.

  • Able to translate deep consumer understanding / trends into robust and meaningful design solutions that meet key business objectives

  • Superior visualization skills and the ability to iteratively prototype new product experiences

  • Successfully manage projects, self-direct, and take ownership for your work

  • Effective communicate and collaborate within your team.

  • Able to deliver multiple, complex projects end to end (concept to launch) : setting overall strategy and delivering best in class execution

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in BS or BA in Industrial Design / Product Design required

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in 3D Product Design & Development and Digital Innovation (visualization & storytelling)

  • A portfolio that demonstrates Innovation Design Mastery (both strategy and execution)
  • Storytelling & Sketching – ability to rapidly communicate new ideas & experiences
  • Experience in GenAI enabled Ideation
  • 2D visualization (Illustrator / Photoshop)
  • 3D CAD (Rhino / KeyShot)
  • Rapid Prototyping (3D printing & rough hand models)
  • Knowledge of key manufacturing processes & CMF/decoration techniques (blow molding, injection molding, understanding of plastic and glass etc).
