The Room Service Server is responsible for the delivery of food and beverage service to guests to provide a world-class in-room dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Room Service Servers will offer gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous, and prompt service at all times following prescribed and established Biltmore service standards. The incumbent will also provide general support and assistance to the leadership, department, and company.
Schedule may vary, but generally 2pm - 10pm.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma.
2. Previous serving experience required.The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of related food and beverage experience in a fine dining/upscale setting and/or luxury hotel/resort.
3. Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
4. Excellent guest relation and communications skills are a must; should be comfortable and able to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests.
5. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards.
6. Terrific attention to details.
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
8. Ability to be proactive, exercise good judgment, and take initiative as appropriate.
9. Ability to be professional in both appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards.
10. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
1. Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
2. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
4. The employee may work in a restaurant and/or kitchen environment.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Setting up guests orders on table/tray according to AAA standards.
2. Ensure that all orders are complete, including appropriate condiments and silverware.
3. Transport tables/trays form Room Service area to guest rooms, ensuring all standards of food presentation are maintained.
4. Comply with AAA standards when entering guests rooms and delivering food and beverages to guests.
5. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly to requests.
6. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
7. Open and service wine/champagne bottles.
8. Set up and deliver amenities to designated rooms.
9. Deliver food and beverage orders to Pool.
10. Remove guests trays/tables from guest rooms according to established standards (see S.O.P.)
11. AM-Set up, break down and maintain coffee service daily.
12. Relieve Coordinator as assigned, fulfilling all job duties as required.
