As a SAP consulting generalist at PwC, you will focus on providing consulting services across various SAP applications to clients, analysing their needs, implementing software solutions, and offering training and support for effective utilisation of SAP applications. Responsibilities:
SAP System Administration
Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, SRM, PI/PO, Solution Manager).
Perform SAP kernel upgrades, support pack upgrades, enhancement packages, and system refreshes.
Manage SAP profiles, parameters, and instance configuration.
Perform client administration (client creation, copy, deletion, transport routes).
2. Landscape & Transport Management
Design and manage SAP landscapes (DEV / QA / UAT / PRD).
Configure and manage Transport Management System (STMS).
Monitor and troubleshoot transport issues across systems.
Coordinate with functional teams for release and transport planning.
3. Performance Monitoring & Tuning
Monitor system performance using tools such as ST02, ST03, ST06, DBACOCKPIT, and CCMS.
Analyze CPU, memory, disk, and database performance issues.
Perform performance tuning for SAP application servers and databases.
Identify and resolve system bottlenecks proactively.
4. Database Administration
Administer SAP-supported databases (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, SAP ASE).
Perform database monitoring, backup, restore, and recovery activities.
Manage HANA Studio activities including memory, disk, and alert monitoring.
Coordinate with DB teams for upgrades and patches.
5. SAP Security & Authorizations
Support SAP user administration (user creation, locking, deletion).
Manage roles and authorizations in coordination with SAP Security teams.
Support audit and compliance requirements (SOX, GRC).
Ensure secure system configuration and adherence to SAP security best practices.
6. Backup, Recovery & DR
Plan and monitor SAP system backups.
Perform systemrestores anddisaster recovery (DR) testing.
Maintain and validate high availability (HA) and DR setups.
Ensure business continuity for SAP environments.
7. Patch & Upgrade Management
Apply SAP Notes, OSS notes, and security patches.
Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
Support SAP S/4HANA conversions and system carve-outs.
Coordinate downtime activities with business stakeholders.
8. Cloud & Infrastructure Support
Support SAP systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, SAP BTP).
Work with OS (Linux/Windows) and virtualization technologies.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams for capacity planning.
Manage SAP systemsoncontainers orhyperscalerenvironments where applicable.
9. Incident, Problem & Change Management
Troubleshoot SAP BASIS issues and perform root cause analysis.
Provide on-call and production support as per SLA.
Document incidents, solutions, and operational procedures.
Participate in change management and CAB meetings.
10. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams.
Prepare operational runbooks and SOPs.
Identify automation opportunities and implement scripts/tools.
Stay updated with SAP roadmap and new technologies.
