Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and capable Injury Management Specialist to join our Corporate Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.
This role is responsible for providing end to end claims management across a complex multi-jurisdictional environment. You will play a critical role in driving sustainable recovery outcomes, strengthening governance, reducing claims costs and supporting operational performance across the business.
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and understands the important role meaningful support, communication and early intervention play in successful recovery outcomes. This role requires a balance of empathy, professionalism and commercial acumen, with a strong focus on helping injured employees feel supported, connected and empowered throughout the recovery and return to work process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a multi-jurisdictional Injury Management Specialist providing end-to-end management and strategic oversight of workers’ compensation claims in line with employer Return to Work Coordinator obligations and legislative requirements across multiple schemes
  • Liaise with medical practitioners, insurers, rehabilitation providers, legal representatives and other stakeholders to coordinate effective injury management, rehabilitation and recovery planning
  • Maintain accurate and compliant injury management records and online claims databases, including medical certificates, reports, return to work plans, file notes and related correspondence
  • Provide contemporary technical advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees on workers’ compensation, injury management, fitness for work and return to work obligations and processes
  • Conduct regular claims reviews, audits and assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, internal standards and insurer performance expectations
  • Monitor, analyse and report on key workers’ compensation and injury management metrics, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve recovery outcomes and reduce claims costs
  • Support operational teams to implement proactive injury prevention, recovery at work and claims management strategies

About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing workers’ compensation and injury management across multiple Australian jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation, return to work obligations and rehabilitation principles
  • Experience managing both physical and psychosocial injury claims
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across a large and complex environment
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance care-based outcomes and commercial performance
  • Experience working within large, geographically dispersed or operationally complex organisations will be highly regarded

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Rehabilitation, Allied Health, Human Resources or related discipline
  • Return to Work Coordinator certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in workers’ compensation, injury management or workplace rehabilitation
