Fraunhofer ITWM is one of currently 75 institutes belonging to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. (Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research) and can therefore draw on the expertise of a strong network. At Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, we see our task as further developing key technologies, providing innovative impetus, and implementing these in practice together with industry partners. In doing so, we not only want to build bridges between the real and virtual worlds, but also serve as a link between academic mathematics and its practical application. At our institute, we conduct research on exciting projects and develop customized products and services for our clients from numerous industries and the public sector.

The overarching topics at Fraunhofer ITWM are machine learning, artificial intelligence, renewable energies, and sustainability. In addition, next-generation computing and quantum computing are future-oriented topics that our researchers are working on.

The requirements for your field of activity depend on the respective research area. In principle, a degree in any field of natural sciences is suitable.
