About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Initial Assessment and Planning Worker. You will have the opportunity to provide rapid crisis intervention and interim support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access safe, affordable accommodation. Additionally,y ou will provide quality assessment, referral and provision of housing information to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent part-time position, 19 hours per week, based in Warrnambool, VIC.

Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award - Level 5.


How you will make an impact

  • Utilise strengths-based, trauma informed and client centred model of support
  • Undertake quality assessments and provide short-term/interim support
  • Develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertake reporting and data collection requirements directed by management
  • Use technology and software applications effectively in accordance with task requirements


What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, related field or relevant experience
  • Experience and highly developed skills in working with people who have multiple and complex needs
  • Ability to assist carrying items short distances where required e.g taking donated items to clients
  • A current VIC Employee Working with Children Check

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
