SCOPE
Responsible for day-to-day safety, industrial hygiene and environmental control programs and evaluations in compliance with all federal state, local, and company policies. Participate, evaluates, and conducts periodic audits to evaluate compliance to regulations. Develops and facilitates training and on-going support for Job Safety Hazard Analysis, etc. Develops activities and documentation (license, programs, manifests) to comply with federal, state and local regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Day-to-day implementation of safety and environmental policies.
· Conducts periodic safety audits / assessments to evaluate compliance to regulations and facility safety & environmental policies & procedures.
· Develop and present compliance documentation for Federal, State and local Agencies.
· Documents assessment findings, assists production people in resolving discrepancies.
· Participates as member of site and company teams to assure safety factors
· Participates in development of safety and environmental training materials.
· Perform evaluation of risks and help to determine the need of Industrial Hygiene services.
· Specific safety program participation to include: PVP, Safety Commission, Hazardous Communication, Lock out Tag Out, and Confined Space.
· Participation to assure regulatory compliance in waste management, wastewater discharge, air quality, storage tank management and spill control. Be proactive at waste minimization.
· Develops and presents training and on-going support for Job Safety Hazard Analysis. Works with appropriate personnel to implement plant-wide safety analysis systems.
· Participate as a member of Health, Safety and Environmental management teams to evaluate risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss experience can be improved.
· Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures in Mexico.
· Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable Regulations and Standards as defined in BD Quality,Safety and environmental Manual and enterprise I.T. systems.
B.S. degree in engineering, safety, environmental or related field
1-2 years’ experience preferably in a manufacturing/maquiladora environment. Knowledge of occupational safety and environmental policies, current laws and regulations required. Bilingual is a plus(Spanish/English)
