Always Compassionate Health is seeking highly experienced Home Infusion Registered Nurses to provide chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic, and other advanced infusion therapies in patients’ homes.

This opportunity is specifically intended for RNs with at least 3–4 years of recent, hands-on chemotherapy and immunotherapy experience and a current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or applicable ONCC certification.

Our infusion nurses partner with patients, families, pharmacies, physicians, and our internal Infusion Intake Team to provide safe, coordinated care from admission through treatment and follow-up.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted New York State RN license and registration
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of recent chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration experience
  • Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or applicable ONCC certification
  • Recent infusion experience in home care, oncology, an infusion center, hospital, clinic, or comparable clinical setting
  • Demonstrated competency administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, and other complex infusion therapies
  • Strong venous-access and central-line management skills
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
  • Ability to independently assess patients, recognize adverse reactions, and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Reliable transportation for field-based patient visits
  • Comfort using electronic, paperless clinical documentation

Clinical Skills and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments in the patient’s home
  • Review and accurately interpret physicians’ orders and treatment plans
  • Prepare and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic medications, and prescribed infusion therapies
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to infusion reactions and other clinical changes
  • Perform peripheral IV insertion and phlebotomy
  • Access and manage PICCs, midlines, central venous catheters, and implanted ports
  • Perform central-line dressing changes and provide line maintenance
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment, medication administration, side effects, safety precautions, and when to contact the clinical team
  • Communicate with patients, families, infusion pharmacies, physicians, and internal clinical staff
  • Complete accurate and timely electronic clinical documentation
  • Perform follow-up visits and ongoing assessments as ordered
  • Precept or evaluate newly hired infusion nurses when requested

Preferred Qualifications

  • OCN®, BMTCN®, CBCN®, or another relevant ONCC credential
  • Home-infusion nursing experience
  • IVIG/SCIG experience
  • Supervisory, preceptor, or clinical-education experience
  • Competency accessing implanted ports, including MediPorts
  • Experience working independently with medically complex patients

Employment Documentation

Selected candidates must provide all required employment and clinical documentation, including:

  • NYS Registered Nursing License and Registration Certificate
  • BLS necessary/ACLS preferred
  • Up-to-date medical, inclusive of Physical, TB Clearance/QuantiFERON Gold blood test, 2-step PPD or T-Spot, or Chest X-ray and Habituation Statement
  • MMR-Varicella Titers Lab Report or Vaccination Records
  • TDAP Vaccine - Hep B Vaccination Series, Titers OR Declination
  • Urine Drug Screen (UDS) - within the last 6 months is acceptable.
  • Flu Vaccination (if applicable) or Declination
  • Two (2) forms of government-approved ID to validate employment eligibility
  • Two (2) satisfactory professional references
  • Malpractice Insurance
  • Reliable transportation

Compensation

$50.00+ per hour base rate

Individual cases may pay $60–$150+, depending on the therapy, clinical complexity, required competencies, and level of care provided.
