Job Description

In this role, you'll:

Be working within Major Works, the major brownfield construction hub of Sydney Trains’ Engineering and Maintenance division. You’ll play a key role in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of track, which is critical for keeping our trains, and most importantly customers, safe, on the move and on time.

The work is rewarding, primarily outdoors and will involve working in all kinds of weather at various times of the day and night, seven days a week.

You’ll primarily be based at our Clyde Heavy Plant depot; you’ll work with a diverse and dedicated team as well as supportive managers.

At times you’ll be required to work across the rail network which will require a significant amount of travel.

The roles are all rostered shift work including night shifts, weekends, public holidays.

You’ll be required to live away from home on occasions to help us manage your safety and fatigue.

About you

You’ve got previous experience working in a construction or maintenance environment and are able to work with technical and industrial equipment as well as being able to follow technical work instructions.

You possess skills in plant operation, worksite protection or inspection and can undertake heavy manual work.

You know safety comes first and stand up for safety in the workplace. You have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and want to make a real difference for our customers.

You have a current and valid class “C” drivers’ licence.

You may hold the below qualifications but these are desirable not essential:

- PO02 – Protection Officer Class 2

- Maintain and Certify Track

- TVO - Track Vehicle Operator

- TMO Heavy - Track Machine Operator

- Cert II Rail Infrastructure
