Job Description

Purpose

The IT Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting, operating, and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure environment to ensure high availability, performance, security, and resilience of systems and services.

The role provides hands-on technical support across servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, and end-user infrastructure, ensuring infrastructure services meet business requirements, operational standards, and internal governance expectations. Operating within a sovereign wealth fund environment, the role emphasizes reliability, security, documentation discipline, and controlled change management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Operations & Support

· Support day-to-day operation of IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, operating systems, and virtualization platforms.

· Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

· Perform system administration tasks including patching, upgrades, backups, and performance tuning.

· Support data center, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

2. Cloud, Virtualization & Platforms

· Support cloud infrastructure services (e.g., IaaS, PaaS) and hybrid environments in coordination with IT Operations.

· Maintain and support virtualization platforms and storage solutions.

· Assist with provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning of infrastructure resources.

3. Security, Continuity & Resilience

· Support implementation of infrastructure security controls, access management, and system hardening.

· Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes, including testing and documentation.

· Support vulnerability remediation, incident response, and operational risk mitigation activities.

4. Change, Incident & Problem Management

· Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.

· Execute infrastructure changes in accordance with approved change management procedures.

· Maintain accurate records of incidents, changes, and configuration items.

5. Documentation, Monitoring & Governance

· Maintain infrastructure documentation including system configurations, diagrams, procedures, and asset records.

· Support audits, reviews, and compliance checks by providing accurate technical documentation and evidence.

· Ensure infrastructure operations adhere to internal IT policies, standards, and service management frameworks.

6. Vendor & Technology Support

· Coordinate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure support, maintenance, and issue resolution.

· Support evaluation, testing, and implementation of new infrastructure technologies and tools.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

· Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, cloud certifications) are an advantage.

Experience Requirements

· 5–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations or systems administration.

· Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments in a financial services, government, or high-availability organization preferred.

· Hands-on experience with servers, networks, virtualization, storage, and cloud platforms.

· Experience working within structured IT operations and governance environments.

Technical Expertise / Skills / Knowledge

· Strong knowledge of server and network infrastructure, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

· Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure models.

· Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and automation tools.

· Understanding of IT service management processes (incident, change, problem management).

· Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

· High attention to detail, security awareness, and operational discipline.
