The Town of Apex is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Inspector to lead policy-setting efforts, oversee complex work, and ensure top‑tier quality control of Contractor and Developer‑installed utilities before they become Town‑maintained assets
An employee in this position interprets and enforces construction codes through inspections of infrastructure for residential and commercial developments. Inspects water and sewer lines, streets, driveways, sidewalks, curb and gutter, storm drainage, and stormwater control measures devices and related items. Reviews construction plans, meets with contractors to review specifications and requirements, inspects construction in progress and upon completion for adherence to approved plans and specifications. This position also oversees chlorination of new water lines, of concrete, and GPS locating and mapping. This position reports to the Infrastructure Inspections Manager. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Associate’s Degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special preference given to candidates that have taken classes and passed exams in all of the following inspection areas: concrete, asphalt, water, and sewer.
Hiring Managers will consider applicants for Infrastructure Inspector II (Senior level) if the incumbent meets the criteria for that level.
