Job Description

Catalight is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (AWS) to support the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud-based infrastructure. Working under the guidance of our Principal Solutions Architect, you will focus on the hands-on delivery, maintenance, and support of our AWS environments to ensure high availability and performance. As part of the Risk & Technology department, you will play a critical role in responsibly disrupting and transforming healthcare access through robust, scalable technology solutions.

Essential Job Functions

Cloud Infrastructure & Networking

  • Implement AWS infrastructure components such as VPCs, subnets, and routing.
  • Assist with hybrid connectivity (VPN, private endpoints, Transit Gateway).
  • Support high availability and basic disaster recovery configurations.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Use Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
  • Assist with basic automation tasks.

Containers & Orchestration

  • Work with Docker to build and run containerized applications.
  • Support deployments in ECS or EKS environments.
  • Assist with scaling, health checks, and basic deployment strategies.

Monitoring & Observability

  • Use CloudWatch and Datadog for monitoring and alerting.
  • Support dashboards and basic alert configurations.
  • Assist in incident response and troubleshooting.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work with engineering teams to support deployments and operations.
  • Maintain documentation and runbooks.
  • Participate in issue resolution and team activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

  • 4+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS core services.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or similar.
  • Basic experience with Docker and container platforms.
  • Understanding of networking and cloud fundamentals.
  • Exposure to monitoring tools.

What would be a plus:

  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab).
  • Familiarity with APIs or integration patterns.
  • Experience supporting security reviews and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Basic understanding of microservices.

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend any required training.

$138,000 - $187,000
