Job Description

Meta is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Production Services Automation Team () under the Infra Data Center (Infra Data Center) org at Meta. The Infra Data Center org is responsible for deploying and supporting one of the world’s largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and launching tools to support the data center deployment, maintenance, and scaling of data center and edge infrastructure. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of global networking at Meta.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools to support network deployment and operation

• Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/organizations, come up with the execution plan, and drive the project and influence other teams to reach there
• Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events
• Help make the people around you move faster by identifying issues slowing the team down and driving changes to address them
• Lead/mentor other folks - Work with other team members from partner teams, understand their challenges, help them find a solution and enable them to code to address it
• Help with recruiting and onboarding of new members to the team. Support them through mentoring and help ensure their effective ramp-up within the team
• Drive requirements with vendors and third parties to align our internal tooling efforts

Qualifications

5+ years of experience building software for network infrastructure

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with programming languages (Python, Perl, or C++)
• Knowledge of Linux OS/networking
• Knowledge with SQL databases
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and knowledge of network routing protocols
• Experience with design and implementation of network operation system
• Experience debugging issues within custom code
• Knowledge of technology-agnostic approach to engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Knowledge of Django, PHP, Shell
