Infrastructure Engineer (AWS / Terraform / ECS / Data Platforms)

Location: New York, NY (Onsite 3–5 days/week)

Compensation: $180,000 - $235,000 + equity

The Role

Our client is hiring their first Infrastructure Engineer to build and scale the foundational systems powering their AI automation platform. You will own critical infrastructure supporting production workloads across intake, clinical documentation, and revenue cycle management—ensuring reliability, security, performance, and compliance as the company scales from one client to dozens.

This is a systems-oriented role with broad scope. You’ll work across container orchestration, data systems, deployment automation, and observability. Over time, you’ll help set the technical vision for the infrastructure layer and define operational best practices that allow engineering to ship faster and more reliably.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, including ECS, Postgres, Redshift, and supporting data pipelines for production workloads
  • Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to enable fast, safe releases (testing, rollbacks, zero-downtime deployments)
  • Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ensuring consistency and version control across environments
  • Build robust observability (metrics/logs/traces/alerting) using tools like Datadog, including cost and performance monitoring
  • Scale and optimize Postgres/Redshift to handle growing data volumes while maintaining performance and data integrity
  • Drive security and compliance at the infrastructure layer: IAM policies, network controls, audit logging, and HIPAA-compliant data handling
  • Partner closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into reliable infrastructure solutions

What Our Client Is Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of infrastructure, platform, or SRE-adjacent engineering experience building and scaling production systems
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform (or comparable IaC)
  • Experience with AWS primitives including ECS, RDS/Postgres, Redshift, IAM, VPC, and related services
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools (especially Datadog) including monitoring strategy and alerting discipline
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills—able to work cross-functionally and operate with high ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Redshift or modern warehousing patterns for analytics/reporting workloads
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries requiring strict security, privacy, and compliance
  • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools and ETL/ELT patterns
  • Background in SRE practices: incident response, post-mortems, reliability engineering
