Infrastructure Engineer - 1814

Location: Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $140,000 – $250,000 Base Salary + Equity (Target candidates within a $30K–$40K salary range based on experience.)

About the Role

We're looking for Infrastructure Engineers to join our Foundation team and help build the systems that keep our platform secure, reliable, and highly scalable.

This team owns the infrastructure that powers a mission-critical platform where uptime, performance, and developer productivity are essential. You'll design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure while improving deployment pipelines, observability, and platform reliability.

Your primary customers are the engineering teams. By making development faster, deployments safer, and systems more resilient, you'll directly impact the speed and quality of software delivery across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, and security.
• Build tools and automation that increase engineering productivity.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and developer workflows.
• Monitor production systems and proactively improve system health and performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions to prevent future incidents.
• Partner with software engineers to improve infrastructure and platform capabilities.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, infrastructure design, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

Required Qualifications

• 1–4 years of Software Engineering experience.
• Experience contributing to core infrastructure or platform engineering initiatives.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and at least one additional backend programming language.
• Experience building or supporting scalable backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Distributed systems
  • Caching technologies
  • System integrations
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Scaling production applications
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and system reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or database infrastructure.
• Experience building or supporting microservices.
• GraphQL API development experience.
• Cross-team platform engineering experience.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security and system architecture.
• Experience with VPN administration or cloud networking.
• Personal engineering projects, open-source contributions, or active involvement in the engineering community.
